Week 31 Update
Walker tops century leader board
Ash Walker, Welcome Inst ‘A’
Welcome’s Ash Walker reached an incredible milestone this week in his league match against Hasland ‘A’. With a stunning break of 122 against Gavin Ward, he now stands alone at the top of the League’s all-time century makers list with 12, surpassing Nigel Bond by one. Congratulations, Ash!
This century, the 7th made this season, equals the most centuries made in one season in the Chesterfield & District Snooker League.
As we near the league’s climax, can someone make the 8th?

Premier Division update
The Welcome approached their match against Hasland with determination, making their intentions clear from the start. Tony Morgan set the tone early, defeating stand-in player Steven Moss and sealing the frame with an impressive 41 clearance. Ash Walker then delivered a moment of brilliance, producing a stunning 122 break—his second century of the season.
The most thrilling frame of the night arguably came from Wayne Martin and Jason Rimington. Martin surged into a dominant 62-point lead, boosted by a 41 break. However, with five reds remaining, Rimington staged a remarkable comeback, matching Martin’s 41 break and clinching the frame on the final black. With additional victories from Bolton and Harrison, The Welcome extended their lead in the title race, finding their best form at the perfect time.
Meanwhile, Lennons SC’s title hopes suffered a setback as they fell 3-2 to Alfreton ‘A’. Their only bright spot came in the second frame, where David Birley crafted a solid 57 break against Kennedy Wright. Birley remains at the top of the player rankings—can he hold on and finish the season as number one?

Division One Update
Newbold Crowned Champions!
A huge congratulations to Newbold CA ‘A’, who have secured the Division One title with a week to spare! Their dominant 4-1 victory over Alfreton ‘D’ sealed the championship, thanks to impressive wins from Kieron Wood, Rob Morley, Mark Nunn, and Steve Goodwin.
But Newbold's season isn’t over yet! They now set their sights on a potential league and knockout double, as they prepare to battle Welcome Inst ‘A’—one of the Premier Division’s top teams—in the Group One Team KO final on Sunday, April 27th.
Meanwhile, despite a 3-2 victory, New Whitt ‘B’ finish as runners-up. They now await their play-off showdown against the Premier Division’s second-bottom side, with a chance to fight for promotion.

Division Two update
Alfreton ‘B’ are now just two points away from clinching the Division Two title following a narrow 3-2 home victory over Grassmoor. Remarkably, they remain unbeaten this season. With just two matches to go, can they keep their nerve and finish the job?
It now looks increasingly likely that Brotherhood ‘C’ will have to settle for a play-off spot in their push for promotion. Despite suffering back-to-back defeats, John Roseman still leads the player standings—his strong early-season form proving crucial as the campaign nears its end.
At the other end of the table, just a single point separates the bottom two sides. Can Grassmoor avoid automatic relegation and fight their way to safety through a play-off?

Division Three update
Clowne Liberal ‘B’ have established the most significant lead the division has seen in quite some time. Their 4-1 victory over Alfreton puts them level on points with Doe Lea—but with the crucial advantage of a game in hand. With six teams still firmly in the mix, there’s plenty of time for more twists in this tightly contested title race.

Division Four update
Brotherhood ‘F’ are Champions!
Brotherhood ‘F’: Michael Elliott, Shane Sykes, Keith Chaplin, Darren Perry & Mark Bower.
Congratulations to Brotherhood ‘F’, who clinched the Division Four title in impressive fashion this week with a commanding 5-0 victory over Lennons ‘G’. Dominant throughout the season, Brotherhood fully deserve both the championship and their promotion to Division Three.
Meanwhile, Lennons ‘J’ continued their standout campaign—arguably their best to date—by securing another strong result, overcoming close rivals Newbold WMC 4-1.
Attention now turns to the race for the coveted play-off spot. With the season drawing to a close, Newbold CA ‘C’ hold a narrow advantage in the standings.

Competition Results
Congratulations to Jonathan Hall on reaching the John Smith Memorial Trophy final, beating Alfreton’s Ben Monk 3-0. Hall will contest the final against the Welcome’s Guy Dennis in May. Well done to both players!
David Birley’s red-hot form shows no sign of cooling as he powers into the business end of both the Premier and Harry Anderson competitions. Breaks of 68, 71, and a sublime 93 clearance underline just how dangerous he is right now. It'll take something special to stop him in this kind of touch.
Glen Shawcroft had a mixed outing in his handicap clash with Jason Rimington. After falling 2-0 behind early on, Shawcroft rallied with impressive breaks of 47 and 82. But it wasn’t quite enough, as the composed Hasland player held on to secure his place in the semi-finals.
Grassmoor’s Deano Hancock continues his stellar season, delivering a standout performance against Alfreton’s Ben Monk to secure his second semi-final spot of the campaign. With two major singles semi-final appearances now in the bag, Deano’s having a year to remember. Big kudos!
And finally, New Whitt’s Jay Kay & Lee buckland made life tough for Premier duo Jonathan Hall and Dave Wilkinson in the Scotch Doubles quarter-final. The Brotherhood duo had to dig deep, battling back from 2-0 down to earn their spot in the semis.
